The Video Encyclopedia of
Physics Demonstrations,™ on
DVD, is currently being used to teach physics
at over 3000 high schools and universities in the U.S. and in 40 other
countries throughout the world. This series has received high praise from
these institutions and from many other educators.
As you may already know, The Video Encyclopedia of Physics Demonstrations,™
now in English and Spanish, is a comprehensive series of 600 videotaped physics demonstrations,
produced in part under a grant from The National Science Foundation.
Each of the 600 demonstrations is concisely
produced and narrated, each stands alone and illustrates a particular
principle of physics. The demonstrations, approximately 10 hours in length
and now mastered to 25 DVDs, are augmented by slow-motion photography and
animation and allow for interactive participation by students, including
calculations which can be done off the screen.
As an adequate range of demonstration material is often not available
to schools because of their expense, danger and other practical considerations,
this series offers an excellent alternative to live demonstrations.
Additionally and of great importance, the discs of this edition have
parallel soundtracks and subtitles in English and in Spanish which will
permit students to listen to the narrations in either language and, if
they wish, with the assistance of subtitles.
The DVDs are accompanied by books of written material which include scripts,
explanatory material, illustrations and a list of equipment for each of
the demonstrations; in addition, the demonstrations have been keyed
to popular textbooks. This written material, prepared in both English
and Spanish, has also been mastered to the DVDs.
We hope you will agree that this series offers a valuable resource for
you and your students.
Thank you very much,
The Education Group
